Mission Documentation Standards

Mission Planning & Risk Assessment

Document missions so jobs can be repeated, audited, handed over, and improved.

FIELD LESSON

Briefing

Documentation is memory

A mission record turns one job into business intelligence. It records what the client wanted, what you checked, what you flew, what changed, what you delivered, and what should be remembered next time.

Minimum record

At minimum: client, site, date, pilot, aircraft, permissions, weather, airspace check, risk decision, flight log, deliverables, issues, and closeout notes.

Repeatability compounds

The second job at the same site should be easier than the first. Good documentation creates faster quotes, better safety, stronger client trust, and more consistent deliverables.

PRACTICE TASK

Make it operational.

Create a mission closeout template with exactly ten fields you would complete after every job.

PREMIUM DEEP DIVE

Source-backed training for paid pilots.

This layer turns the reference links into practical operating knowledge: what to read, what to decide, what to save, and how to prove the lesson in a real pilot profile.
